Bokeh Technique

In photography, Bokeh  is the aesthetic quality of the blur produced in the out-of-focus parts of an image produced by a lens. Bokeh has been defined as "the way the lens renders out-of-focus points of light" and the result can be very pleasing to the eye.

Here are some sample photography pictures that demostrate the Bokeh technique.bokeh1 bokeh2

This Bokeh technique seems to be all the rage right now so I thought I would give it a try. I love, love, love…did I say love?… the results. And it was super fun too. Each background I made turned out quite different but fabulous. I watched a few youtube videos and went to town.

Here are my Bokeh backgrounds. I made two each of two different color schemes. Strawberry Slush and Daffodil Delight for the “pink” ones and Old Olive and Bermuda Bay for the “blue”.

Want to learn how to do this? Watch for my announcement email. This will be my next technique class. If you are not signed up to receive my class emails don’t hesitate to leave a comment on my blog to get a hold of me.

Happy crafting!  Shan
