The Beauty of a Butterfly

I made this beautifully soft butterfly card for an upcoming card class I am having. Although I used a retired color from Stampin'Up!, Baja Breeze, just about any color would work wonderfully for this monochromatic card. The picture doesn't effectively show what the card looks like from a side view, but it has great dimension from the "lifted" butterfly wings. The white CS under the die cut is super fun too. I first used the die cut as a stencil and inked over it as well as around it. So from a side view you can see the butterfly stenciled on the white CS also. The striped paper I used is fabulous. It is the new Irresistibly Yours DSP that you can earn free from the Sale-A-Bration catalog. (Want to know more about this? Ask me how to get yours free!) It inks up just gorgeous. The blending of the ink truly is IRRESISTIBLE! I fell in love with it at the first swipe of my sponge. Well, I hope you enjoyed a sneak peek. I listed the products I used to make this card below.

Happy crafting!

Paper: Whisper White CS, Baja Breeze CS (retired), Irresistibly Yours DSP (Sale-A-Bration)

Ink: Baja Breeze (retired), Memento Tuxedo Black (inside sentiment)

Tools: Big Shot Die Cutting Machine, Stampin' Trimmer, Butterflies Thinlits Dies, Scallop Trim Border Punch (retired), stamping sponges

Accessories: Pearl Basic Jewels, Baker's Twine, Dazzling Details

  1. I made this card in Shannon's card class last night and it is more beautiful in person and was not difficult to make. Love the technique. Shannon you rock!!!
